<h3>American Crew: die führende Körperpflege für Männer</h3>
American Crew ist eine Marke mit Haar- und Hautpflegeprodukten für Männer. Ihre Geschichte reicht zurück bis ins Jahr 1994 und ist mit dem Namen David Raccuglia verbunden. Heute bezeichnet sich American Crew als die weltweit führende professionelle Männerpflegemarke. Zu den American Crew Produkten gehören beispielsweise Produkte zum Schutz vor Haarausfall, Forming-Cream fürs Haar, Shampoo und Pomade sowie Eau de Toilette und Aftershave-Balsam&nbsp;als Feuchtigkeitsspender mit Anti-Aging-Effekt.
<h3>Ein Mann mit vielen Talenten</h3>
David Raccuglia gilt als Visionär im Bereich der Körperpflege von Männern. Er ist der Gründer von American Crew und darüber hinaus Fotograf. Geboren wurde er 1959 in LaSalle (Illinois), wo er auch aufwuchs. Eine ganze Weile arbeitete er selbst als Friseur und entwickelte aus seinem Salon für beide Geschlechter irgendwann einen typischen Barbershop für Männer.
Zu solch einem Barbershop gehörten aus Sicht von Raccuglia irgendwann passende Styling- und Pflegeprodukte für die männliche Kundschaft. Also entwickelte er auch die. Eine der Initialzündungen für diesen Weg soll eine Reise Raccuglias nach Japan gewesen sein, wo er eine auf Wasser basierende Pomade namens Cool Grease kennengelernt hat.
Die Marke American Crew entstand 1994 und ist mittlerweile eine Marke des US-amerikanischen Kosmetikunternehmens Revlon, das wiederum zum US-Unternehmen MacAndrews &amp; Forbes gehört. Raccuglia wandte sich irgendwann verstärkt der Fotografie zu. Fotografisch ist er ebenfalls erfolgreich und hatte unter anderem Jack Nicholson, Ray Charles&nbsp;und Yoko Ono vor der Linse.
<h3>Männer müssen wie Männer behandelt werden </h3>
Was immer das im Einzelfall nun genau bedeuten mag: „Männer müssen wie Männer behandelt werden“ ist wohl so etwas wie das Credo der Marke American Crew. Raccuglia habe eine Zukunft vorhergesehen, in der Männer ihrem Aussehen ebenso viel Aufmerksamkeit widmen wie jeder andere auch, heisst es auf der Website der Marke. Mit „jeder andere auch“ dürfte dabei vor allem die Damen gemeint sein.
Raccuglia wusste aber, so die Website weiter, dass Männer während dieses Weges zu einer wachsenden Bedeutung ihres Aussehens nicht ihre Maskulinität verlieren möchten. Das bedeutet nicht zuletzt: Männer brauchen Produkte für Männer.
Der Körperpflege von Männern sieht sich American Crew heute aber nicht alleine mit seinen Produkten verpflichtet, sondern auch mit Ausbildungsprogrammen. So startete 2017 beispielsweise „Master of Men’s Grooming“ als zertifiziertes Trainingsprogramm, das TeilnehmerInnen technisch und kommerziell relevante Haarschneide- und Stylingtechniken vermittelt.

Trotz der umfassenden Philosophie, die auch die Ausbildung von Fachkräften einschliesst, stehen die Produkte natürlich im Fokus von American Crew.
