Ioniq Skincare: My experience with the One Sprayer

At 1.8 square metres, the skin is our largest organ and, at up to 10 kg, also our heaviest. It envelops and protects us. We should therefore also protect and care for it. The sun's rays in particular can have a damaging effect and injure it. Sun protection should be at the top of our skincare routine. But protecting the entire body is often a tedious task. I have the One Sprayer from IONIQ Skincare which promises to protect the skin completely and reliably in a matter of seconds. Just this much in advance: my son (almost 10), who hates applying sun cream, has recently been keen to spray himself with SPF. This change in our sun protection routine is due to the IONIQ One Sprayer, which makes the unavoidable protection programme a real pleasure in summer. 

The IONIQ Skincare brand offers a completely new type of skincare that really does make it super quick and easy to care for your body from top to bottom. A special technology - Magnetic Skin Technology - envelops the body and eliminates the need to spread different serums and creams. For example, you can provide your back with protection or care all by yourself. 

Three different care products are available for the One Sprayer, which are placed on the device in cartridges. You can choose between the following:

• BODY GLOW, a body serum with high-quality ingredients such as jojoba and macadamia oil
• SUN, an instantly effective sunscreen with SPF 15, 30 or 50
• TAN,  a floral-scented self-tan formulation in Medium or Dark

The ground-breaking idea for the technology behind the ONE tool from IONIQ Skincare originated at the Wagner company in the small German town of Markdorf near Lake Constance. An employee of the company, which specialises in coating systems for industry and usually applies a protective layer of paint to car parts, bridge elements or household appliances, had a flash of inspiration: "If we as experts can achieve flawless coating results, that's the basis for perfect sun protection."

Based on the already proven technology, a team developed ion technology that can be applied to skin care. With the so-called Magnetic SkinTechnology, the liquid is negatively charged by the sprayer. The attraction of the skin creates a wrap-around effect that completely envelops the arms and legs. This means that not a drop of the premium cosmetics from Switzerland is wasted and the skin is fully protected.

The device comes in attractive white packaging and looks very high quality. It feels good in the hand and makes a very solid impression. The best thing is that I don't have to charge it before I can start, I can start testing straight away. To do this, I screw in one of the cartridges - in this case SUN with SPF 50 - on the ONE Sprayer. You're ready to go. To spray, I have to press both side buttons at the same time. As soon as the sun lotion jets start spraying, I can let go of one of them. It's more comfortable that way. 

The instructions say that the distance to the skin should be about 20 cm. And lo and behold - I can actually feel the wrap-around effect. Even if I only hold the sprayer over the top of my arm, I can also feel drops on the underside. Like magic ✨ It really feels as if all areas have been well treated. To be on the safe side, I spray a little more and run the ONE along my arm several times.

The drops come out of several nozzles and it feels a little like they are bursting on the skin. Very pleasant. Like a little summer rain on the skin. As the spray is so evenly distributed, I don't have to apply any cream or rub it in. The lotion is absorbed extremely quickly and I'm practically ready for the sun straight away. 

Now comes the acid test for the sprayer. I want to apply sun cream to my back. Or to be more precise: have it applied. The tool now has to prove that it works in all situations and positions. So I hold it upside down and aim it at my back. And there is no noticeable change. It works just as well as in an upright position. I like a lot. Not that it can be nice to have your back creamed. But I like being independent and not having to rely on others. Just like on my back, I can also let it glide down my legs and I'm really moisturised from head to toe in a matter of seconds.

If you have a child or more, you know that it can be a struggle to protect them from the sun. When we used to go to the seaside, we often put a UV suit on our son so that we didn't have to put sun cream on him. It was simply too much effort to apply sun cream effectively to a stubborn child from head to toe. If sand was added to the mix, we were doomed anyway. Then things became very unpleasant - for everyone involved. 

Since the ONE from IONIQ Skincare moved in with us, my son has asked me several times if the sun is so strong that I have to spray him with SUN SPF 50. For me, the absolute plus point for the device. It is a huge help for stressed parents and makes the all-important sun protection an absolute breeze. Well packed, you can also take it with you to the beach. As you don't get sticky hands, it's always easy to use. It is heavier than a regular sun cream, but I'm happy to accept that. 

My tip: If you spray another person, you must touch their body in one place. Otherwise the magnetic attraction will not work and the device will target you instead. 

My daily skincare routine includes moisturising with body lotion after showering. My skin is very dry and suffers if I skip this step because I simply don't have the time in the morning. This is where the ONE comes to my rescue. Lotion with the Reactivation Serum is so quick that I don't go without it on any day. 

And as the serum with macadamia oil, aloe vera extract and jojoba oil is absorbed immediately, I can get dressed straight away without having to worry about oil stains on my clothes. The only downside: the serum is not rich enough for my shins and I have to top it up with my favourite body lotion. But I'm happy to put up with that if the rest of my skin is silky smooth and wonderfully moisturised. 

In a nutshell: I can't live without it. The device makes it so much easier for me to moisturise in everyday life, but also in the sun, that I wouldn't want to be without it. It is completely intuitive to use without a lot of instructions and the battery lasts forever. I have now tested the device for four weeks and haven't had to charge it once. It just runs and runs and runs. Maybe you will soon too?
