My hair texture
My hair is naturally wavy to curly. When I dry my hair with a hairdryer, I can get it quite straight, but it often looks restless and is prone to frizz. I can only achieve a truly straight look by blow-drying with a round brush for a long time or using a flat iron.

This involves keratin that wraps around the finest hair capillaries and is enveloped by a molecular polymer layer. This protective film is supported, among other things, by coconut oil or the Brazilian plant Cupuacu. With the heat from a hairdryer, these active ingredients can penetrate the hair fiber. Sounds very promising!
The packaging is straightforward and resembles a classic hair dye package from a retail store. The contents are similar: besides the straightening serum and instructions, there's shampoo, conditioner, and gloves for application.
The application - allocate plenty of time
The application of KATIVA requires several steps, so it's crucial to carefully read the instructions.
First, wash the hair with shampoo and without conditioner, then fully dry it with a hairdryer. The straightening serum is applied about 1 cm away from the roots, strand by strand, and massaged into the hair. For thicker hair, it's recommended to divide the hair into upper and lower sections and treat them separately. After the recommended time, comb out any excess product. Tip: Use a comb that cleans easily, or you'll struggle to remove the product.
Next, activate the serum with the heat from the hairdryer. From this point, patience and some arm muscles are required. Use an ideally flat brush to completely dry and straighten the hair. This might take a while. It's advisable to ask for help with the back of your head; otherwise, undesirable waves may form.
Once the hair is completely dry, wash the product out using the provided shampoo and conditioner, and dry it straight again with a brush.
The result
Immediately after the application, my hair feels very straw-like and tends to form 'knots'. However, it is indeed much smoother. The real result becomes apparent after the first hair wash. Even without a round brush, my hair is evenly smooth and has notably less frizz. This is something I usually achieve only with the help of my flat iron.
