Met Gala 2024: Make-up-Looks

It was finally that time again. The Met Gala, for which the designers outdo themselves every year, took place on the occasion of the opening of the exhibition “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” in New York. The dress code for the evening was “Garden of Time” and was not only reflected in the most creative way in the form of flowers and birds. We at PerfectHair.ch took a close look at the make-up looks at the Met Gala 2024 and show you the most exciting beauty moments of the evening. 

Actress Zendaya was one of the co-chairs of this year's fundraising gala and arrived in one of the most spectacular looks of the evening. Designer John Galliano had tailored a shimmering green and blue gown for Maison Margiela that made us think of a peacock. With vines and little birds - simply fabulous. Add a headpiece with a veil and a sophisticated make-up look that reminds us of the French writer Colette in the 1930s, but also impresses with its 90s vibes. 

Star make-up artist Pat McGrath's make-up in dark berry tones stands in stark contrast to the cool tones of her gown. Important for this: thin eyebrows and plum-colored eye shadow that is blended right to the edge. Add to this a porcelain complexion, from which the glossy burgundy lips contrast perfectly. Our tip for the perfect dark red eye make-up: dazzle, dazzle, dazzle. 

Jennifer Lopez proved that a messy bun can also look glamorous in a sparkling silver dress by Schiaparelli. Her hair stylist Lorenzo Martin conjured it up with the help of Tangle Teezer products. The make-up in gold tones shows understated elegance and perfectly placed highlighters for a radiant glow. 

Rapper Cardi B. probably had the most expansive gown of the evening. The voluminous tulle wonder had to be brought into position by eight men. With this appearance, the Marge Simpson memory hairstyle was hardly noticeable. The make-up, however, which was perfectly coordinated with the emerald green jewelry, did. Two eyeliners were used here. Green under the eye and black on the upper lash line. The whole look was only topped by the long, artfully designed nails, which were intended to resemble rose thorns.

Do you immediately think of Marilyn Monroe when you see Gigi Hadid's classy beauty look from Maybelline New York for the Met Gala 2024? The elegant wavy bob and bright red lips are absolutely timeless and suit a wide variety of occasions. Try the look with a white T-shirt and high-waist jeans. 

The prize for the most surprising appearance of the evening went to Harris Reed. He simply stole the show from his muse Demi Moore by looking as if he had just stepped out of a Renaissance painting. His long, shiny hair and choice of color made us think of Botticelli's Venus. For the curls, his hair stylist braided thin plaits and fixed them with the help of a straightening iron. After opening it, the result was these natural-looking waves.
