Mocha Mousse: The Pantone colour 2025

Every December, the creative industry eagerly awaits an announcement from the Pantone Institute. The trend colour for the coming year is announced. Last year it was the lovely, friendly fuzzy peach colour. The Pantone colour for 2025 is Mocha Mousse. After initial scepticism in our small beauty editorial team, we have now become friends with the restrained, soft brown tone and appreciate its neutrality above all.

To know what the Pantone Colour of the Year is all about, you first need to know what exactly the Pantone Color Institute does. People who work in creative professions know it because it sets standards for colour tones - whether printed or in other forms such as logos or on fabrics. The institute helps companies with the strategic use of colours and develops brand colours. But what is most important for you as an end consumer: 

It creates colour trend forecasts that have an impact on all areas of design - from fashion, to colours for beauty products, to interior design or even technical devices. You will encounter the Pantone colour of the year in all areas of your life in any given year. In this case, you can be sure that you won't be able to escape the colour Mocha Mousse. 

If you take a close look at the Mocha Mousse colour, your mouth may already be watering. It really is reminiscent of light and airy yet creamy mousse, with a hint of chocolate. At the same time, it also radiates the closeness to nature and tranquillity that we long for in turbulent and uncertain times like these.

I think that the soft brown with a mauve undertone is particularly easy to combine. It looks sophisticated in combination with gold, for example, and softly playful and floral with pastel shades. And above all, it's also great for beauty. 

Perhaps Hailey Bieber is also a little to blame for the fact that this year's trend colour is reminiscent of coffee. After all, she created a viral trend with her latte make-up that we couldn't resist. You can't go wrong with this make-up, whose warm, earthy nuances form a unity and harmonise with every skin tone. In addition to your favourite foundation, you will need: 

• Mocha Mousse lip liner
• neutral or cinnamon-coloured lip gloss
• blusher with a brown undertone
• eye pencil with brown-grey tone

Naturally, my dear colleague Carolina jumped straight on the colour bandwagon and decided to create her own make-up in the trendy shade Mocha Mousse. I've listed all the products she used below. 

Whether you have blonde, red, dark or grey hair, a hair accessory in trendy brown suits all hair colours and gives you an individual glamour. A hair clip is often all you need. I'm currently in love with the accessories from CORINNE. I'm particularly fond of the leather bows. If you have short hair, you can also go for a headband instead of a bow.

Nachdem nun Mocha Mousse als Trendfarbe in unsere Köpfe und bald auch Kleiderschränke und Wohnungen eingezogen ist, bleiben wir braunen Nägeln weiterhin treu. Du kannst sie ganz pur und matt tragen oder mit goldenen Akzenten - hier bei OPI mit Sternen und Punkten - versehen. Auch ein Kombi mir Rosé, für einen femininen Touch ist denkbar. Kombiniert zu Hellblau, sieht das trendige Braun besonders frisch aus.

I'm curious to see how much the Pantone colour 2025 Mocha Mousse will prevail in trends. We didn't see too much of Peach Fuzz, which our ambassadors Sarah and Marko also used for make-up, last year. However, I see a different future for Mocha Mousse as the trend colour of 2025 and I am sure that we will encounter the shade in many areas of our lives.
