Removing Shellac gently at home

Shellac is probably one of the biggest nail trends of our time and is competing with ordinary polish and artificial gel nails. The long durability and wide variety of colours and application techniques make Shellac so popular and are worn by women of all ages. Do you want your nails to be well-groomed without having to run to the nail salon? There is actually a method that allows you to easily remove Shellac from your nails at home. This differs only slightly from the conventional method using ordinary nail polish.

A good quality UV polish adheres to the nail for about two weeks, but after that you usually notice the first flaws. The nail cracks or the polish starts to chip. Once the nails look damaged, it's time to get your hands looking well-groomed again.

The Shellac should now be removed from the nails, whether baby boomer with Shellac or normal Shellac. This usually involves a visit to the nail salon, where the Shellac is filed off the nail with a special device. Unfortunately, this is not the gentlest option, as it can damage the fingernail - your own nails become thin and brittle, as a thin layer of the nail is usually sanded away. 2. The next step is to apply nail oil to the cuticles and massage it in gently. The nail oil is used to protect the cuticles
3. A small bowl should be filled with nail polish remover. Now place the 10 cotton wool pads in it so that they can soak up the acetone
4. Cut the aluminium foil into strips
5. Place the cotton pads on the nail bed and wrap the nails in aluminium foil
6. Leave the acetone to work for 10 minutes
7. Now remove the gel from the fingernail with a nail stick
8. If any Shellac remains on the fingernail, carefully remove it with a file

Now the nail and cuticles have been stressed by the Shellac and the procedure - it's time to take good care of your hands again!

The hands should be washed thoroughly with a mild, skin-friendly soap and dried. Now give the skin a shot of moisture! Nail oil is perfect for this, and should be gently massaged into the nail bed and cuticles.

Then use a rich hand cream and massage it into your fingers and palms. Have you decided to switch back to normal polish? To avoid brittle nails, you can also continue nail care by using a strengthening nail serum for healthy nails. You can then paint your nails with a normal nail polish, for example.

Voilà! You can enjoy well-groomed and healthy-looking hands again.

The method listed is primarily suitable for the original Shellac nail polish. Some nail salons work with other gel nail polishes, which cost less but can only be filed off. To be sure that the UV polish can also be removed with acetone, it is best to find out in advance.
